Jack Vander Meulen

CEO

Jack Vander Meulen has been involved in the family business since 1973. Jack learned the construction business from the ground up starting out as a carpenter and advancing through the ranks. In 1996, Jack assumed the role of presidency and has seen many successful years go by. In addition to his leadership of the organization, Jack served as the president of the Holland Home Builders’ Association in both 1990 and 2000. He is currently a senior executive on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Association of Home Builders. Jack presently serves on the Board of Directors for Jubilee Ministries, a non-profit organization that builds homes for the missing middle. In his free time, Jack enjoys being a grandfather to his grandchildren and exploring the globe with his wife Brenda. “When we travel we get to see all these different building designs and I think to myself, how can I incorporate that into one of my new projects.”

Aaron Vander Meulen

President and Project Manager

Aaron Vander Meulen, has worked in the residential construction industry for  over 20 years. He is the company’s fourth generation home builder and acting president, project manager and estimator. Aaron enjoys keeping up to date on the newest trends and products in the home building industry, is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), is currently working on earning his certificate to become a Green Home Builder (GHB), is a member of the local Home Builders Association (LAKESHORE HBA), and is on the board for the National Codes Committee. Aaron works with the National HBA and is involved with the Michigan Association of Home Builders (MAHB) and our local tech center. Aaron earned an associates’ degree as a Civil Engineering Technician from Michigan Technological University.

Casey Vander Meulen

Estimator

Casey is currently working toward her builder’s license and plans to pursue ADA certifications as a way to combine her passion for building with her commitment to serving those with limited mobility. She brings a strong background of leadership and service, having built a career in healthcare management where she oversaw operations and advocated for geriatric patients and adults with developmental and cognitive challenges. A United States Marine from 2002 to 2006 and honorably discharged combat veteran who served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom 1 and 2, Casey has always been driven by a desire to make a difference. She is also a devoted mom of three energetic boys, wife to Aaron, and proud rescuer of dogs Maggie and Damon.

Andrea Richardson

Marketing & Business Manager

Andrea graduated from Alma College in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration and joined Vander Meulen Builders in April 2018 as our Marketing & Business Manager. She has a passion for creating content that showcases our skills and design work, growing our social media followers and creating eye catching ads. She will be your first point of contact when you are ready to start your remodel or new build with us and will work with you in picking out selections for your project.

Jason Helms

Project Manager

Jason came to us with over 12 years of experience in residential construction, serving as a project manager with a strong focus on building and remodeling in the lakeshore communities. With a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering Management from Purdue University, he brings both hands-on expertise and a solid technical foundation to every project. His passion for quality craftsmanship and modern construction practices makes him a valuable part of our team. Outside of work, Jason enjoys boating, camping, and attending concerts with his wife Alicia and their dog Marley.

Nichole Shear

Financial Officer

Nicki joined the company in October 2019. She quickly learned she had a passion for numbers and people through her business classes. Nicki currently works part time fulfilling the role of AP/AR for our vendors. She is also in charge of our monthly financials.

Carpenters

Vander Meulen Builders employs skilled craftsmen known for their consistent quality of work and are knowledgeable in all aspects of the construction trade. Each one brings their own unique skills and talents to each project.

Nick Beyer

Crew Leader

Nick joined Vander Meulen Builders in 1983 and is an accomplished carpenter and all around nice guy. Nick has developed the skill set to take on single-man jobs and make sure they get accomplished in a timely manner. He’ll listen to what you want done and apply his creativity to bringing the details all together for you. Nick is in charge of our customer care and service maintenance operations.

Mitch Hanko

Crew Leader

Mitch joined Vander Meulen Builders in 2000. He is an especially talented trim carpenter, making sure that all of the details on your cabinets, baseboards, and moldings reflect your vision for your home. He will take the time to make sure everything on your project is done to our high standards.

Eric VanBronkhorst

Carpenter

Eric joined Vander Meulen Builders in May 2016 after 22 years of carpentry and construction experience. We are absolutely delighted to have him on our team. He is a hard worker that you will enjoy having on your job site.

Collin Arendsen

Carpenter

Collin brings his expertise as a skilled trim carpenter to VMB, eager to expand his knowledge and experience across all aspects of the trade. A graduate of Calvin College, Collin combines his passion for building with a dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail. Known for his personable nature, he enjoys connecting with people and ensuring every project is completed with precision and care.

Nate Strobel

Carpenter

Nate discovered his love for building and woodworking in high school through two years of woodshop classes. With a natural talent for working with his hands, he began his career in residential construction as a framer. Driven by a desire to deepen his expertise, Nate is focused on learning all facets of the trade. His ultimate goal is to grow into a project management role, where he can lead projects with the same dedication and skill that fuel his passion for building.

Trim Carpenter

Collin brings his expertise as a skilled trim carpenter to VMB, eager to expand his knowledge and experience across all aspects of the trade. A graduate of Calvin College, Collin combines his passion for building with a dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail. Known for his personable nature, he enjoys connecting with people and ensuring every project is completed with precision and care.
